Fishamble Architects were engaged to provide architectural services for the building phase of this Marc Kilkenny designed refurbishment and extension. The focus of this brief was reconfiguring the plan to form a coherent connection of spaces throughout the house. An upper level is added in the existing generous roof space containing bedrooms, office space and shower room. 

The exterior of the extension is clad in a light-toned, treated larch. Timber elements are reflected inside with fitted furniture. Wardrobes and other forms of storage are installed in residual attic spaces, ensuring even typically awkward spaces are used to the full. A bespoke plywood staircase, incorporating storage and plant space, is accentuated by the light from a roof light above.
