Project Architect / Experience Architectural Assistant - FEB 2024
Fishamble Architects are looking for an Architect or experienced Architectural Assistant to join our growing office and to be involved in a number of exciting new projects across Dublin & Ireland. We are a young and enthusiastic firm of architects working on projects of varying typology, scale and complexity throughout Ireland and further afield. With a number of one-off and multi-unit residential and commercial projects currently on the boards. We look to apply creative thinking to all aspects of projects from financing through to completion. Collaboration is at our core; we enjoy working closely with clients, other designers and industry practitioners. With a focus on spatial conversations and inventive uses of material, we aim for an oblique simplicity in our finished products.
Job description
We have an opportunity for an Architect or experienced Architectural Assistant, seeking involvement in residential and commercial design projects of varying natures and scales. We are looking for individuals who are creative, who enjoy design and work well in a collaborative environment. Considered applicants must have the appropriate level of experience and expertise across multiple project types, from inception to completion. Candidates are offered a creative and flexible working environment with room for professional growth. Start date of February 2024 based in our central Dublin office.
The role
The role entails working closely with both practice directors in overseeing the design and delivery of multiple projects, while often presenting to clients and consultants. You will work in a highly design focused environment and have the opportunity to be involved in the evolution of developments from inception through to completion. The applicant will ideally be a registered Architect or eligible to become registered without further assessment with approx. 2+ years post Part III experience or a Part II with approx. 4+ years relevant experience, seeking to complete the part III qualifications asap - a number of projects within the office may be suitable for progressing same.
Job responsibilities
Assist directors to lead the client interface, design and detail design of multiple projects
Work collaboratively with other members of the team to manage output
Work collaboratively with technical consultants, project managers, engineers and other stakeholders
Construction stage site reviews and inspections, working collaboratively with clients and contractors through to completion.
Develop and oversee the production of 2D and 3D drawings for internal and external presentations
Assist directors to drive the conceptual design of varying schemes at all scales
Contribute to the development of office policy and direction
You should be
A creative problem solver
Extremely talented in the design and management of architectural projects
Highly enthusiastic about design and project delivery
Able to articulate your ideas with hand drawings and 3D and/or physical modelling
Experienced in detail design, documentation and procurement
Have good site experience and communication skills with contractors
Proactive and energetic
You should have
Applicants should have approx. 2+ years working as an Architect on the Register of Architects / person eligible to seek registration as an architect without further assessment or approx 4+ years experience working as a Part II Architectural Assistant with proven job-running and site experience.
Competent Knowledge / experience of Contract Administration and Building Regulations
Excellent organisational skills
An ability to multitask and manage projects at various work stages
Strong communication skills and be confidence facing clients and contractors
Proven experience designing and delivering built projects
Proficiency of working with Vectorworks is favourable
Proficiency of BIM would be beneficial but not a requirement
